Christmas Parade
Benjamin was in the Christmas Parade this year with the Cub Scouts. If was fun to be out and watch him be part of the fun!
Pushcart Races
Each December the Cub Scouts have a district-wide pushcart race activity. They push each other in carts that they have made. Benjamin had a blast! However he did crash once or twice. Emma and Mo were also there and I pushed them in the carts once until Emma spun out of control and wiped-out.

Here is a video of a wipe-out:

Thanksgiving Adventures
We spent Thanksgiving with the Quains up in Vacaville.
One day, we went to Muir Woods, home of some Redwoods, and did a hike from there to the beach.

Here we are almost to the beach.

At the beach we played and played in the sand and water. Henry had an especially good time!

We also went to the Jelly Belly factory, where you practically inhale sugar.

On Thanksgiving Day, some of us ran the Turkey Trot. I blogged about this previously; but I ran the 10K and met my 7-minute mile goal. The others ran the 5K and did awesome!

Thanksgiving dinner was awesome. Here we have some of the prep work going into it:

And here we are ready to eat! Yummy!

And of course we hang out a lot, with Henry as the center of attention:) Or is that Henry on the center of the table?

The kids also spent some time at a bounce house.

Lots of great food and memories!

Family Photo Shoot with Trains
One busy Saturday we remembered we did not yet have a Christmas card picture to send out. So we hurried over to the rusty trains just out of town that are always just sitting there. However, when we arrived there was an engine and it was on. That didn't stop us from getting some great pictures!

MO's Birthday
MO recently turned 4. He is growing up way too fast!
He had a little party at McDonalds with some of his friends. OK, it wasn't so little and it was very crazy! But at least the kids had fun.

The best part of the party was a funny incident at the playland. MO's friend, Hannah, slid down the slide and had clearly wet her pants. Following her down the slide was Benjamin. He quickly got off the slide and asked "why is the slide so wet?" That made for a great laugh!
At home we also celebrated with opening presents from family and some ice cream and cake.

Happy Birthday MO!

Little Mozart
They say you should start them out young, right?
Emma's First Run
Emma started running today. I went with her on a 1 mile run. She ran it in 11:46. Not bad for a 6-yr old on her first run! She had a stitch, which is probably pretty normal for a first-timer. But she stuck through until the end.

I'm secretly happy that someone else in the family might share my affinity for running:)

Christmas Tree Adventures
Here we can see our adventures in setting up the Christmas Tree. It is always a special event to setup the tree. The kids were asking to setup the tree for weeks prior! I insist on waiting until December.
When I was a kid we used to cut down our own tree. Now we get our tree from the rafters in the garage. Times have sure changed!

All setup!

MO's Dentist Visit
MO is a bit nervous about the dentist, but the sunglasses make everything better.
Sleepy
At least somebody is getting a good night's sleep in the crib.

Christmas Train
Yesterday we road the Christmas train while Rachel was getting a CT scan. Yes, it is really true.
Yesterday morning Rachel started having double vision and vertigo. I took her to see the doctor. The doctor ordered a CT scan and blood work. Doing all that took from about 1pm until 8pm.
The Halls watched our kids most of the day. Around 5:30pm they (the Halls) also fed us dinner (lasagna - my favorite!) while Rachel awaited her CT scan in the hospital. About 6:15pm she finally went back for the CT scan. I took the kids and went to Walmart to pick up Rachel's meds then decided that who knows how long the CT scan would take so I took the kids to ride the Christmas train since I had a ticket for our family that was good for only that day.
Unfortunately Rachel was done only after we were in line for some 5 minutes waiting for the train. So she had to wait almost an hour for us to pick her up. However, the kids did have a GREAT time riding the train.
These are some amazing small-scale size trains. I guess we really do live in a town of engineers!

We had to wait in line for about 30 minute to ride.

And here we are on the train! The kids loved it, including Henry!!

The train ride lasted about 20 minutes I would guess. Pretty cool for being free!
After the train ride we saw Santa. I think Emma was most excited to see him, as you can tell from the look on her face!

The other kids also enjoyed meeting with Santa. MO told Santa he wanted Wipe Out Wii game. Emma said she wanted American Doll stuff and Mario Party 8 for the Wii and a pillow pet.
