Fun Run

Yesterday evening, the youth of 3 of the 4 Ridgecrest Wards came together for a "Fun Run".  The purpose was to fulfill a physical fitness requirement for the pioneer trek they will be doing later this summer.  They needed to complete 4 miles in 60 minutes.  The course was a "box" around Cerro Coso college up in the hills.  Each loop was on dirt roads and 2 miles long, so the loop was done twice.

My job was to stay with the fastest youth runner for the duration.  I knew it shouldn't be too hard unless we had some quality cross country runners in the mix, which it turned out we didn't.  Gage was the fastest for the first lap (a 13-yr old boy in our ward) and Addison was the fastest for the entire second lap and finished first overall.  Still, everyone did very well and I'm proud of all of them.  All the youth came in within 64 minutes.  While a handful did come in over the 60 minute mark, they were very close.
