Rachel made him a cake.
He wasn't sufficiently instructed on the tradition of blowing out the candle. Instead of blowing he tried to grab it and burned his hand with hot candle wax.

[/caption]I put him in his highchair to eat his cake. I was certain he was going to love having all that sugar.
But it turns out he was not thrilled with so much sugar after all. Poor kid was not feeling well to begin with and was probably still shaken up after burning his hand on the candle. I think he really just wanted to be held instead.
He also opened up presents, albeit very cautiously as if the wrapping paper was poisonous. But he liked what was inside every time!
