Quick Camping Trip - Near Troy Meadows

Last night I got back from travel a day early.  Five minutes after I walked in the door at home, a friend of mine, Ben, called and asked if I wanted to go camping with him and his kids.  Sure, why not!

We drove up to Troy Meadows and decided not to camp there to avoid the steep $17 fee for using that campground.  Instead we took an ad-hoc campsite at Mahogany just before Troy.  There was no water, potty, nor table, but there was a little stream for the kids to play with.  And it was free.

We had a campfire.  It all went very well, except I really should have brought my table.  It made meal prep very interesting.

We had foil "hobo" dinners.  The kids "hobo" dinner just had hot dog.  We also cooked up some banana boats and marshmallows.  In the morning we had pancakes that I cooked over the fire.

After packing up, we drove to Kennedy Meadows to the PCT and hiked a little bit to take a look at the brook.
