The Pageant takes place on the Hill Cumorah and is a re-enactment of the Book of Mormon, another Testament of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon was translated from metal plates buried in this very hill where we now hold the Pageant.
They have seating for 9,000 people. When I was part of the case/crew, it used to only take us 45 minutes to setup all 9,000 chairs.
The stage takes about 2 weeks to assemble.
Here is a photo of one of the light towers. There are 12 towers that hold hundreds of lights and a spot light on the top. I used to man one of the spotlights on the top of one of the towers.
The cast of the show mingles with the audience before it starts. There is a cast of over 600 people. We got some great pictures with some cast members!
Here is the start of the Pageant.
